Choose the line for your enquiry

Reception and the urgent mobile serve different purposes. Start with reception for an ordinary consular question. Keep the urgent mobile for the cases listed by the embassy: a visitor’s lost Indian passport, a death or serious illness in the immediate family.

Passports, visas and OCI

The embassy directs applicants to the BLS website first for passport, visa and OCI information. Check the instructions for the service you need before phoning. Tell the operator whether you have already submitted an application and whether you need an appointment or a status update.

Before travelling to the office

Telephone enquiry hours differ from the embassy’s office hours. Use the hours beside the reception number for calls. A phone enquiry does not book a visit; ask the office which location handles your application before travelling across Madrid.

Before you call

  • Your nationality and the city you are in.
  • The service you need and any existing reference number.
  • Your travel date, if a deadline affects your enquiry.
  • A return phone number and an email address you can access.

Calling from another country

For an ordinary international number, copy the full number shown above. The plus sign replaces the international access prefix when your phone accepts it. Do not add another country code to a number that already starts with +.

Check the hours attached to the line you need. A listed office address does not mean walk-in access is available. If no one answers, read the official contact page for an online enquiry route before trying another department.
