Start with your location and departure date
Canada’s United Arab Emirates contact list names Embassy of Canada in Abu Dhabi; Consulate General of Canada in Dubai. Tell the officer exactly where you are and when you planned to leave. Ask which office can handle the passport request before buying travel to an office. A consular contact listing does not confirm that the location accepts passport applications.
Use the official lost-document questions
The Canadian passport service asks about the document type, whether it has expired and where you are. Answer those questions on the official page linked below. A child’s passport, an adult passport and another travel document do not necessarily follow the same application route.
What to have beside you
Write down the passport details you still have, the place and approximate time of the loss, and how the office can contact you. If the passport was stolen and you have a police report, keep its reference available. Do not send identity documents through this directory.
Before paying or booking another flight
Ask the issuing office what document can be considered for your itinerary, which forms it needs and how fees must be paid. Do not assume a call secures an urgent appointment or a document by a particular date. Check your airline and any transit requirements after the issuing office has explained the document route.
Before you call
- Your passport number or a copy, if available.
- When and where the document was lost or stolen.
- Your travel date and every country on the route.
- Your current address, return number and any police report.
Calling from another country
For an ordinary international number, copy the full number shown above. The plus sign replaces the international access prefix when your phone accepts it. Do not add another country code to a number that already starts with +.
Check the hours attached to the line you need. A listed office address does not mean walk-in access is available. If no one answers, read the official contact page for an online enquiry route before trying another department.
