DIALING INSTRUCTIONS
Follow these steps to connect to any Italian landline or mobile number from the Philippines.
Use any calling app, browser-based dialer, or phone handset. Both landlines and mobile phones in Italy accept international calls.
Enter +39 (Italy's international country code). In the Philippines, you may need to use 00 instead of +; check your provider. On Sayfone, simply use +39.
+39 for Italy
Italian area codes are 2–4 digits and are normally written with a leading 0 for domestic calls. When dialing internationally, drop the leading 0. For example, Rome (06) becomes 6; Milan (02) becomes 2.
Rome: +39 6... | Milan: +39 2... | Naples: +39 81...
Complete the sequence with the local subscriber number (typically 6–8 digits after the area code). The full number is usually 9–10 digits after +39.
+39 6 1234 5678 (Rome landline example)

DIALING RULES
Key formatting rules for calling Italian numbers from abroad.
When dialing Italy internationally, remove the leading zero from the area code. The zero is only used for domestic calls within Italy.
From the Philippines, +39 is the standard format. Some older devices or networks may require 0039 instead. Check with your provider if + does not work.
Italian mobile prefixes begin with 3 and are followed by 8 digits (e.g., 330, 333, 345, 347, 348, 349). Dial as +39 XXX XXX XXXX after the country code.
Landline area codes range from 2 to 4 digits (e.g., 06 for Rome, 02 for Milan, 081 for Naples). Always verify the area code for the target city.
Italian numbers do not use extension codes or pauses. Dial the full sequence without waiting: +39 [area code] [number].
TIMING & TIPS
Italy is 6–7 hours ahead of Philippines (depending on daylight saving time). Plan calls during business hours or evening to reach people when they're available.
Italy observes daylight saving time (late March to late October), which shifts the time difference. The Philippines does not observe daylight saving time.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Common problems when calling Italy from Philippines and how to resolve them.
Verify you entered the correct country code (+39) and removed the leading 0 from the area code. Check your internet connection if using a browser dialer. Confirm the Italian number is active and accepts international calls.
Italy's area codes range from 2 to 4 digits. Always drop the leading 0 when dialing internationally. For example, Rome's area code is written as 06 domestically but dialed as 6 internationally (+39 6 ...).
International calls may have minor latency or background noise. Move to a quieter location and ensure a stable internet or network connection. Try calling at a different time if network congestion is suspected.
Italian telecom numbering is stable, but regulatory updates occasionally occur. If a previously valid number no longer works, verify the current number with your contact or consult the Italian telecom regulator.
