DIALING INSTRUCTIONS
Follow these steps to connect your call. Each step is required to reach the correct number in Italy.
From Morocco, dial 00 to access the international dialing system. Alternatively, you can dial the + symbol if your phone supports it.
00 or +
Enter 39, which is Italy's international country code. This routes your call to the Italian telephone network.
00 39 or +39
Dial the Italian area code (city code) for your destination. Area codes range from 2 to 3 digits and vary by region (e.g., 06 for Rome, 02 for Milan).
00 39 06 (for Rome) or +39 02 (for Milan)
Finish by dialing the recipient's local number, which is typically 6–8 digits. The full number follows the area code without any pauses.
00 39 06 1234 5678 or +39 02 8765 4321
Once you have entered the complete number, press the call button on your phone or internet calling service to connect.

IMPORTANT RULES
These rules ensure your call connects reliably to Italy from Morocco.
You must include Italy's country code (39) in every international call from Morocco. Omitting the country code will result in call failure or connection to a wrong number.
Italy's area code (city code) must be included for all landline calls, even when dialing from within the same region. Do not drop the area code when calling from abroad.
When dialing Italy internationally, do not include the leading 0 of the area code. For example, Rome's area code is 06 domestically, but dial it as 39 6 when calling from abroad.
Italian mobile numbers always begin with 3 followed by two digits (3XX), then 7 more digits. The entire mobile number is 10 digits after the country code. Do not expect variable-length mobile numbers.
TIMING & ETIQUETTE
Plan your calls during business hours or convenient times in Italy to improve connection rates and reception.
Morocco (UTC+0 or UTC+1 with DST) and Italy (UTC+1 or UTC+2 with DST) share similar time zones. However, Italy observes daylight saving time from late March to late October, which may shift the offset by one hour.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If your call doesn't connect, check these common causes and solutions.
Verify that you have included the full country code (39), area code, and local number without any leading zeros in the area code. Example: +39 06 1234 5678 is correct; +39 06 1234 5678 with a leading 0 in the area code is not valid for international calls.
Internet-based calling depends on a stable connection. Move closer to your Wi-Fi router or switch to a mobile data connection with a strong signal. Test your connection speed before making important calls.
Very long calls (several hours) may timeout due to network inactivity. Restart the connection or wait a few minutes before redialing. This is normal for international VoIP calls.
Some special numbers (emergency services, premium/toll numbers) may not be reachable through internet calling services. For emergencies, use the local emergency number in Italy (112 or 113) if you are in Italy; from Morocco, contact local authorities or use alternative methods.
