- On an unlocked eSIM-capable iPhone 15, open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM.
- An iPhone 15 bought in mainland China lacks eSIM support. Check Hong Kong and Macao variants before buying.
- Check Settings → General → About for No SIM restrictions beside Carrier Lock.
Install your travel eSIM
Install an eSIM on iPhone
- Connect to Wi-Fi and open the activation QR in My eSIMs on a second screen.
- On your iPhone, open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code, then scan it.
- Select the travel eSIM under Cellular Data. Enable data roaming for that line and turn off Allow Cellular Data Switching if you want to keep data off your home SIM.
